Liverpool Lights up for Pride

bluecoat

Liverpool Pride is one of the most exciting annual events to take place in the city and a chance for Liverpool and Scousers to show its support to the LGBT community.

This year’s celebrations are set to kick off on Saturday 30th July and last until Sunday 31st with the promise from organisers that this will be the most exciting and colourful spectacle the city has ever seen.

Previous Pride events have been held in the Cavern Quarter area of the city along Mathew and Victoria Street but this year, Liverpool Pride is taking a prominent position in St George’s Quarter which is situated in the heart of the city close to Lime Street Station.

Liverpool Pride is free to attend and guaranteed fun for all of the family.

The main event is the Pride March which takes place on Saturday, starting from the Plateau Stage in St George’s Quarter at 12pm and ends back at St George’s Hall at 1pm. The route will see supporters walk across the city centre through Whitechapel, Castle Street, Dale Street and Churchill Way.

Throughout the weekend there will plenty to do and see with three stages, dance choirs, comedy shows, fashion shows, drag queens and much, much more.

Sonia, Liverpool’s queen of pop will be headlining the main festival stage and she will be joined by Mason Noise, Lucy Spraggan, Karl William Lund and Christopher Haul.

If all of this excitement is too much for you then head to the Plateau Beach Bar for a glass of bubbly or a cocktail and get ready for the night ahead. There will be a whole host of delicious eateries from the cities most cherish independents.

There is furthermore a ‘We Are Family’ day on Sunday which aims to incorporate all of the family for a day of festival fun with workshops and activities running from 10am until 5pm.

Last night we saw Liverpool ‘Come Out of the Shadows’ to show their support for the LGBT+ community and the most prominent landmarks lit up in a sea of rainbow colours.

If you’re staying with Signature Living this weekend, we urge you to join in the celebrations and show your support for the LGBT+ community.
