One of Liverpool’s most striking buildings and located next to the iconic Liver Building, the Cunard Building is one of a kind. This week, we’ve announced our exciting plans for the Pier Head landmark, and though talks are still in progress, there’s plenty of reason to get excited about the potential of our plans.
At Signature Living, we’ve transformed several of Liverpool’s most striking buildings into successful hotels, visited by both locals wanting a luxury short break and tourists looking for something special. We simply don’t do your usual corporate hotel experience. We like to invest in Liverpool’s history, and cultivate the character of the city’s building for the long-term.
Signature Living’s Plans
We feel that it’s about time our beautiful city had its own Michelin Starred restaurant. And we’d love to be the people to offer just that. With two restaurants offering hearty dishes in stunning locations, we’ve certainly been able to develop our experience with hospitality over a number of years.
With beautiful events venues located within our current hotels, we’ve also played host to elegant weddings with luxury details and fantastic facilities. Improving each and every time, our fantastic team have mastered the art of wedding planning, and we hope to utilise the Cunard Building as the ultimate Liverpool wedding venue. And with the building’s waterfront backdrop, we can’t think of many more scenic places in the UK to celebrate the big day.
Buildings Transformed by Us
The Shankly Hotel in Millennium House
Formerly council offices, Millennium House was transformed into Liverpool’s Shankly Hotel. A favourite amongst celebrities, tourists and locals, we’ve successfully created a hotel that offers history and character without compromising on style or modern luxury.
The Shankly offers two fantastic spaces, perfect for wedding ceremonies. Our rooftop venue Eden offers wedding guests the chance to admire the city’s skyline from large windows and our very own terrace space.
Meanwhile, our cosy Little Eden venue is often favoured for more intimate weddings. We understand that our guests have varying preferences for their special day, and we always endeavour to make our guest’s experience as personal as possible.
30 James Street Hotel in Albion House
30 James Street – Home of the Titanic is quite fittingly located within the former headquarters of the White Star Line; the shipping company that owned the infamous RMS Titanic. Liverpool is a city with a diverse maritime history, and 30 James Street is a symbol of exactly that. At 30 James Street, we consistently celebrate the history of the White Star Line, while paying respectful tribute to the Titanic.
Of course, we made full use of the building’s decadent features. We’ve been able to echo the extravagance of the ocean liner and its era, from the ship’s intricate interior to grand exterior. Titanic’s history is a story that has fascinated generation to generation, and we’ve managed to cultivate Liverpool’s integral part in its story.
Our White Star Grand Hall is one of the most visually striking parts of the hotel. Formerly the White Star Hall, the spacious room was designed as a first class lounge and ticketing area for the White Star Shipping Company.
In keeping with the opulence of its past, we’ve created the perfect events venue within the Grand Hall. Hugely popular for weddings, the events space captures exactly how Signature Living works. With its grand features very much in tact, the hall provides a romantic backdrop for spectacular weddings.
We’ll be sure to keep you updated with the progress of our plans for the Cunard building – and we hope you’re excited as we are about its potential!
