Among the top must attend June events in Liverpool attendees can get an experience of everything that makes African culture amazing. From music and food to art and craft workshops it’s all right here this June in Liverpool.

Over recent years the festival has expanded its cultural arms to welcome in acts from South America and the Caribbean which make Africa Oyé the perfect way to kick off the exciting Liverpool festival season for 2017.

Gin Tasting

Where: Lunya

When: 21st June

source: Lunya FaceBook

It’s summertime in Liverpool and the fragrant scent of Gin wafts through the air inviting people into to sup from skull-sized goblets in the sun.

A good old fashioned Gin and tonic is sometimes all you need to round off a perfect day in the sun with your friends and with so many varieties of Gin available perhaps a little lesson is in order.

Head to Lunya on the 21st of June to explore a vast variety of Gin’s being served in bars across the city.

Find out if your tastes favour the dryness of older Gins, or if you prefer those with a stronger hint of juniper and learn the flavours that compliment Gin, other than the basic lemon and tonic.

Who knows you could emerge from Lunya a connoisseur rather than just an avid fan of the lovely liquor that is Gin?

International Mersey River Festival and Armed Forces Day

Where: Mersey Riverfront

When: 24th – 25th June

source: International Mersey River Festival FaceBook

Another of Liverpool’s fabulous, free festivals is the International Mersey River Festival.

This year the exciting weekend will coincide with Armed Forces Day and by putting the two together organisers ensure these are two June events in Liverpool not to be missed.

Following on from the success of previous festivals visitors can expect to see an amazing line-up of live bands, creative workshops and fun entertainment for the whole family.

Albert Dock will be filled with exciting things to see and do throughout the weekend including a gathering of the most spectacular sailing vessels upon the River Mersey with over 60 in attendance last year.

Music lovers, maritime enthusiasts and those who enjoy a day by the water will not be disappointed at the International Mersey River Festival.
